IC Card "manaca"

manaca is an IC (smart) card that holds electronic money  which can be used to pay for railway tickets.

manaca is a convenient and easy-to-use IC card.

  • Simply touch the sensor at a ticket gate or payment box in a bus with a manaca card to pay for your ride.
  • You can register a manaca card as a commuter pass. If your manaca card has enough balance, then when you travel to a station outside of your commuter pass area, the payment box/ticket sensor will automatically calculate the additional fare needed and debit your card.
  • You can purchase railway tickets and μtickets with manaca.
  • manaca can be used on Meitetsu trains & buses, the Toyohashi Railway, Nagoya city transportation (subways and buses), the Aonami Line, and the Yutorito Line.
  • Points (manaca mileage points) are accumulated from spending money stored on the manaca card as transportation fare.
  • If you get a manaca card registered in your name, you can easily get it reissued if you lose it.
  • Once you have used all the credit on your manaca card, you can easily recharge it and reuse it again and again.

Types of manaca cards

A manaca card can be either non-registered, registered, or a commuter pass.

Non-registered manaca

Can be used by anyone but it cannot be reissued if it is lost. Can be changed to a registered manaca card or manaca commuter pass.

Registered manaca

Can only be used by the person the card is registered to. By registering your name, gender, date of birth and phone number, you can reissue the card if it is lost. Can be changed to a manaca commuter pass.

Same as a registered manaca card but a user can save money if they travel regularly between 2 locations. If you charge your manaca card in advance, you can travel to a station outside of your commuter pass area and the payment box/ticket sensor will automatically calculate the additional fare needed and debit your card.

Child manaca cards

Child manaca cards (for registered manaca cards and manaca commuter passes) are available for children age 12 and under.

Shop with electronic money.

manaca cards can be used as electronic money at participating shops with the manaca mark.


Mutually Accepted Nationwide

In addition to the TOICA areas of the Central Japan Railway Company, manaca cards can be used in other transportation IC card areas nationwide for boarding trains and buses and as electronic money when shopping.
