Sake breweries in the city of Hida are located in Hida Furukawa, with its streets lined by old white-walled dozo buildings, and in the central portion of Kamioka-cho, where a retro ambience pervades. The area's locally produced sakes, enjoying such conditions as pure water, good-quality rice, and climate, are all exceptional. Hida's local sakes run the gamut of variety, and one of the pleasures of traveling here is encountering sakes that delight your palate. Do be sure to visit the breweries and seek out a bottle of a kind you like!

And of course you should also try Hida beef steak, fish from the local rivers, seasonal edible wild plants, and other local cuisine that goes perfectly with sake.
